- 📝Written Comment: La Mimosa is a unique, beautiful, and peace-filled home away from home. The landlords are very kind and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the many monkeys, birds, and flowers! One thing to note is that it can be difficult to access Ciudad Colon, and the greater San Jose area, during the weekends (when the UPEACE bus is not running). My husband and I are long-distance runners and thus loved having quick access to amazing trails in the morning; however, running 3km to get groceries (at times in the rain) can be a challenge. It is easy to get an Uber/taxi from Ciudad Colon up to La Mimosa, but it can be difficult finding a ride to come pick you up from La Mimosa. Additionally, there is no AC or oven, and we had to pay $5 for each load of laundry and $30 for each canister of gas for our stove (which were things that were different than what we expected based on the booking website). All in all, we are SO grateful we spent our year here and would do it again in a heartbeat! This place is very “Pura Vida” 😊.
- ⭐️Star Rating: 4. The landlord is very kind and responsive. However, there were several hidden costs (laundry and gas for the stove), as well as other disparities from the booking web page (ie. no oven, no AC, no rides offered into the city) which were surprising to us.
